just because the holiday season is technically coming to an end, doesn’t mean you have to stop brainstorming creative ways to serve your guests...or yourself! for the new year, i’ve complied a list of my favorite DIYs to serve food.
1. the first is this amazing DIY chalkboard serving platter. all you need is a porcelain platter, Pebeo Porcelaine 150 Chalkboard Paint, a paintbrush and an oven. you can read the entire post over at Wit and Whistle – and the result is this beautiful serving platter!
2. this one requires a little construction. using only a few 1×2 wood boards, stain, paint, and twine (and some nails and a hammer), you can make this piece. the DIY instructions can be found here.
3. saw this one on design*sponge. you need: 11×14 double glass picture frame, 2 to 4 inch drawer or cabinet handles, and something flat (fabric, photos, etc.) to place inside the frame. read the entire post here.
4. this one is incredibly easy and takes about… 15 seconds. go to the nearest hardware store – home depot, or some place like that, and grab a 12 x 12 piece of slate from the outdoor flooring section as well as some self-adhesive felt pads. next, you stick the felt pads around the corners so it doesn’t scratch whatever surface you put it on and voila! you have an awesome serving platter – read more about it here.
