DIY sock bun

this is such a fun way to get a chubby bun! all you need is: a sock, an elastic and a pair of scissors!

  1. cut the toe of your sock to make a tube
  2. roll your sock into a roll aka bagel
  3. make a ponytail on the top or crown of your head
  4. put your ponytail through the hole in the sock bagel and roll your hair around the sock moving down towards your head. spread the hair out as you go
  5. when you’ve reached the base of your ponytail and all your hair is wrapped around the bun just make sure the sock is all covered by hair and spray with hair spray to seal.

My friend did this the other week-with only pins- and i tried it but my hair was too long! This tutorial was awesome and i love the way it looks and how easy it is! Thanks!

  11. Saw this on the KTLA morning news! Loved it! I tried it and my hair is just too thin – not enough hair to cover the entire sock! Any ideas for gals with thin hair??

    1. Ale B. says:

maybe try a smaller sock?? I use an ankle sock and i also have thin hair, so maybe it’ll also work for you 🙂

Thank you did it perfect in first try and I stink at DIY…second time I found it easier to bring the sock all the way down to the ponytail holder than tuck hope that helps

  14. Lauren says:

Oh my goodness! This works!! I ran around the house so excited that I could put my hair up and stayed there! I have always believed that I cannot do hair up and my talented friend has always done it when I couldn’t be bothered. Now I can do this!! I love it! You are such a genius! Thank you so much! 😀
