Mr. Kate,

With my mudroom floor tile looking like slate, what color should the walls be? Toughest choice so far during my renovation.

Hey Alyse,

Thanks for posting! That is a great floor tile, I’m sure it will look amazing in that room!

Since this room is an entry way into the home, I think you can use it to declare your style as someone is coming in. If you have a bolder style, a color on the wall (really, most colors would look good off of a dark gray floor but since it is a cooler tone, I would search for a cool tone color) would be such a welcome! But if your style is a little more modern or minimalist, keeping the walls white and just hanging a chic coat rack would be really nice too.
