New Studio

I am moving into a new studio apartment very soon. I am a strong believer that though I am a student with a small budget my apartment doesn’t need to look it. I refuse to let my space be something where people walk in and their first thoughts are “mmhmm very practical” I want everything to serve at the very least one purpose but to the outside eye just look pretty. What are the best ways I can do this while staying in my budget. I love the idea of DIY’s but I’m not always great at the crafty stuff so anything easy in that department is great. Thank you for any help I can get.
