Jordy, you totally need to post pics of your costumes once they’re done! That fabric for the Cheshire Cat is perfect!!!

This is what we are wearing to a family friendly Halloween party this year. I made these costumes for the little dude’s 3rd birthday. This year there will be the addition of a cracked felt egg for our wee Luna πŸ˜…

            [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="301"] Dino family![/caption]

I made all the masks out of cardboard, felt, foam and hot glue πŸ™ŒπŸ»

My husband’s costume was the most work with the winged hoodie. The wings were made by chopping up an old umbrella and gluing the fabric to the sleeves and sides.

Here are a couple of the little dude’s costumes I’ve done.

              [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="301"] Yarrrrr ☠️[/caption]

I drew on the skull shaped piece of felt to make it look a bit more fancy. I also made the lace collar and arm hole things to add to the coat, as well as the belt. I sewed (yikes, that does not look like the way to spell the past tense of sew πŸ˜…) some snap domes on the parrot and the shoulder of the coat so it was detachable.

This was an easy, last minute costume I did last year. Just bought a plain black tee and some tights and painted the skeleton on πŸ‘πŸ» The little dude was very particular about how he wanted his mask (he wanted it to look spooky but not scary πŸ˜…), and he was so happy with how he looked 😊

I found a tutorial on YouTube on how to make the headpiece. This one took soooo long as all the angular pieces had to be individually folded and glued together. Then there was making the phone piece and painting the whole thing. As well as the tin foil accents. My hot glue gun was my best friend for this DIY!

I also painted the yellow bits on the wig cos I wasn’t going to spend a huge amount on buying that specific wig when it cost less than $5 for me to make this one πŸ‘πŸ»

Omg yaaaaas Jordy!! Your costume is everything 😍

I have quite a few costumes from over the years, so I’ll start with a classic…. Punk Zombie!!!!

This one was super simple. I found a make up tutorial online of a glue and tissue paper method that worked amazingly! I was soooo happy with how it turned out.

The first thing that popped into my head was some sort of feather and flower crown/headpiece situation.

You could either go super bright and colourful for Summer, or use darker earthy tones for all you Northern Hemisphere folk coming into Autumn.

I also love the cat toy idea too 😻😻😻

                      Hello wonderful weirdos!!!

This thread is amazing! So cool to learn more about the incredible people who make up the Little Mister community ^_^

When I first joined the LMs, I said I was “A Hot Eclectic Mess”. This is still true, as I absolutely love pulling inspiration from all sorts of things (whether it be for my fashion, home decor or DIY/art style).

But really, at the moment, I’m just A Hot Pregnant Mess ^_^

I’ve just recently passed my due date, so things are feeling a little unsettled and nervous for me right now. On top of this, we’ve just moved house (like last week!) so things feel extra crazy!!!

Having said that, I have found myself really enjoying this last part of my pregnancy. For so long, I felt very confused and didn’t really feel like I’ve had a chance to connect with my wee bump (especially after my four year old boy had a pretty horrific accident last month. He’s bounced back amazingly thank goodness!)

Now that I can slow down and take some time for me, I’ve felt more happy and at peace with the incoming birthing (I’ve been struggling with some pretty intense anxiety about it from complications from my first birthing experience).

I’ve just now read back over this post and definitely feel like a Hot Pregnant Mess, this is the kind of word vomit a baby brain produces πŸ˜€

Anyway, here are a couple ofΒ pictures I took the other day. I’ve been having as much fun as I can with this bump while I’ve still got it! ^_^

And just a little side note to Brittany Smith… This world can be pretty dark and the amount of hate blows my mind at times. Especially being a mum, I find myself worrying about the world my children will grow up in. But you can’t let those feelings and thoughts bring you down. There is sooooo much good in the world, it just gets overshadowed by the scary stuff. I really hope you had a wonderful birthday and I’m sending infinite amounts of love and light your way!!! <3

Peace and love Little Misters xx

Thanks for the tips! Will definitely be on the look out for loads of blankets (Winter is coming down in the Southern Hemisphere 😜)

My husband and I are pretty hippie, so Luna will be in with us, like Tui was when he was a baby. So her bed will most likely be flush with ours for easy access.

We’re picking up our new bed today, so I’ll post pictures of the progress of our room in the near future 😊Today, I had a massive urge to make up Luna’s bed (finally able to get my nest on!) so here are some before and after shots of her bed. My husband Joe’s grandfather hand crafted the cot out of some NZ Rimu, we’re super blessed to have it.

(I hope I did that right and the images posted properly πŸ˜„)

OMG yes to all of this!!! Adulting suuuuucks!Β You finally feel like you’re getting somewhere/finding yourself by the end of high school and then all of a sudden you’re released into the world expected to start adulting around the place and get a job and start contributing to society. Like seriously, what the actual f**k??!

And then you may decide (or not, that’s fine) to have kids. Then the adulting levels go through the roof! My husband and I have just realised this by making the decision to move houses just so we can get into the school zone for our second pick school for Tui, if we don’t get into the first one. Seriously, what is life????? We were just cracking up that we’re sitting here making these full on life decisions, and yet so often we can’t even decide what to have for dinner so we just make berry smoothies πŸ˜›

It sounds like things are going amazingly at your internship and you looked boss as on your first day… Go you!!
