i definitely tried to have a “green” holiday with my eco-conscious tree and eco-friendly gift wrap. we had some brown paper grocery bags (which are made from recycled paper already and are easily recyleable themselves but i try to use the cloth ones whenever possible). but to be consious and green and creative for the holidays, i used only left-over brown paper grocery bags to wrap my gifts then recycle the paper after and save the decorations!

diy brown paper bag wrapping:
cut open the bags along the seam and then cut the bottom off to create a nice long rectangle. carefully rip the paper handles off, they make great ribbon substitutes later.
wrap the presents, like you would with regular wrapping paper, with the outside (printed) part of the bag on the inside so you get the nice clean natural brown finish.
then find household or craft scraps or even old ribbon from gifts you’ve received, (i used the paper bag handles, a package of colored zip ties, bells, rhinestones, plastic beaded doo-dads, and some turquoise hemp twine) and get creative with the decorations, a hot glue gun and a marker!
i was loving the minimalist look, while my sister tess made a snowy tree with beaded wire doo-dad and rhinestones, (she also wrapped a ring like a swaddled baby jesus!!!).

other pics: tess got a pink snuggie and reading light (but hates pictures).
me on christmas eve in my elf outfit of thrift-bought and then re-vamped red romper over black tights and flea market green boots and red belt, f21 purse and random old beanie.

Web design is an art, I truly enjoy it. When reading posts like the above, it makes me go back many years ago and think about when I started. It is amazing how much everything has changed over the years. Great site, awesome.
