Mother’s Day was a busy day! people have consistently celebrated matriarchs and mother-figure goddesses dating back to ancient Egypt. i celebrated my matriarch last thursday night, before she left for NYC, and this sunday we celebrated with joey’s mom Sharon (who was visiting from Indiana), by going to Inn Of The Seventh Ray in Topanga Canyon for a beautiful, vegan-friendly lunch buffet. the Inn is the coolest place, it’s in the mountains by a creek, with buddha statues and tons of foliage, and yummy food, oh, and a new-age store containing the meaning of life, which apparently is a monkey with a funny nose… who knew!
we went home and i slept off my rose haze and then went to the LA Comedy Festival for a screening of a short film i was in called Men Interrupted. we ended the day at the Roger Room (a Speakeasy style bar) where i had a drink made with jalapeno and tequila…slept well, but there was a slight burrrn.
mother’s day wrinkled duds: urban renewal jacket, pinko 1988 top, development by erica davies pants (suspenders included), sam edelman shoes, all Mr. Kate jewelry except for Chime bracelet (really cool jeweler who was at the Graffiti Beach event who makes jewelry out of broken drum cymbals!), Gina Will Cut You hair extension, sissi rossi bag
