the inspiration photo above is another one from the late great Domino magazine. i like a lot about this room: the high ceilings, the calm colors, that pig! …but my favorite thing is their feature wall of personal photos over the fireplace. the fact that the photos are not framed is just fine because they have them spaced and ordered in such a way that looks “decorated” yet still casual and lived-in. this is such an easy, cheap and fun idea for any feature wall in your place!
my advice: compile all your favorite personal photos (trips, family, pets) and put them through a photo filter. my favorite one lately, that i’ve been using for a lot of my photos that i post on this blog is Camera Bag which i downloaded for $19 and haven’t regretted! i would choose one specific filter that you like and put all of your photos through it so they all get edited and have a cohesive color tone and look… in the above photos i used the magazine filter with rounded corners and cropped them square ..then when you print them out (on photo paper) and put them all lined up next to each other on your feature wall it will make it look more intentional then just some random photos. try sticking the photos up with a little piece of this stuff… it’s safe on paint. have fun!
