i know i’ve been referancing Domino magazine a lot these days but lately i’ve been really missing it! it was one of the all time best interior design magazines and there is definitely a gap that has yet to be filled in its absence…. anyways, a feature that they used to do was “if this outfit was a room” and i was recently reminded of this fun idea by one of my blogger friends LA Stylist Mom who did this rad post based on the same concept….
so armed with that inspiration, i set out to do my own outfit as a room, based off of the above Proenza Schouler dress that Chloe Sevigny wore… i happened upon the inspiration room above, which i feel really captured the look of the dress with the floral pattern meets structure in the bed, the chandalier reminded me of the shape of the skirt and the mirrors are soooo the lines of the strappy shoes and black bra…and of course the turquoise color. i went off of the inspiration room and found some items that could make up a similar room… the one thing i would change from the inspiration room is instead of hot pink pillows i would do royal blue velvet pillows to pick up the velvet ribbon color from the cut-out in the back of the dress.
the On-The-Cheap version if this outfit were a room: Target comforter set $135, lamp $20, and mirror $229. BedroomFurniture.com tufted headboard $269. Home Depot chandelier $209. Etsy blue velvet throw pillow $15 and black and white throw pillow $19.95, Lille swallow plate $48.
