a little while back i posted about collecting vintage photographs, now i’m showing you my other collection – rosaries! i started collecting them a couple years ago and now whenever i travel i try and find a cool one. i have about eight right now in total, from all over the world.
in latin, rosary means “garland of roses” and traditionally, you are supposed to recite a hail mary prayer while moving your fingers down each bead. it’s interesting how recently rosaries have become a fashion accessory and catholic church does not seem to be happy about it…
the wood rosary on the left was given to me by my friend carly who got it in italy. the seafoam green rosary was bought in a church in segovia, spain when i was studying abroad there – definitely my favorite one.
whether you want to wear your rosary, pray with it, or just collect them – rosaries are aesthetically beautiful and i like that they carry different meanings for everyone.
