the many lives of shipping containers

we normally see shipping containers stacked high on barges, trains, trucks or on other modes of transportation.  however, more and more we are seeing shipping containers used in other contexts.

seeing as there are many people without proper shelter, architects have converted unwanted or unused containers into building blocks for homes.  from luxury condos to disaster relief shelters, shipping containers have proved themselves to be quite useful.
