seeing as there are many people without proper shelter, architects have converted unwanted or unused containers into building blocks for homes. from luxury condos to disaster relief shelters, shipping containers have proved themselves to be quite useful.
1. freitag shop — the freitag shop in zurich is made entirely of shipping containers. it is made of 17 of them, stacked 85 feet high. the steel steps allow customers to explore the four story shopping space.

2. tempohousing in amsterdam – this city of shipping containers is named Keetwonen and is a student dormitory. the containers are equip with a bathroom, a kitchen, balcony, large windows, separate sleeping and study rooms, as well as a ventilation system.
