MUGLER, a fashion brand headed by French designer Thierry Mugler, casted Rick Genest as the model for the Fall/Winter 2011 campaign. Genest’s is a Canadian-born model, who’s nickname is Zombie Boy, fittingly. he’s known for his body being covered head-to-toe in tattoos.
he was homeless at one point until last year when someone created a Facebook fan page for his odd tattoo choices. the page reached over one million fans and he was then cast as the face of MUGLER. he was discovered by Nicola Formichetti, who is one of Lady Gaga’s stylists.
the photos from the campaign are eerie yet extremely intriguing. it just goes to show you that fashion has no limits! the 25-year old Zombie Boy has also appeared in a music video with Lady Gaga. he waited until he was sixteen (at his parent’s request) to get his first tattoo.
he told Bizarre Magazine that his tattos “were about the human body as a decomposing corpse – the art of a rotting cadaver. it’s also a tribute to horror movies…which i love!” ……….
kind of creepy, yes? and what is he going to look like at 60? aside from that, this dude deserves props for making it work!
