the margritte house

a couple in tokyo, japan commissioned japanese design studio Atelier Tekuto to erect a fully concrete house on 45 square meters of land.

the owners of the home are a married couple in their thirties and they specifically asked for every part of the house – including the floors, walls and tables – to be made of concrete.  the house was apparently very difficult to build because the road is so small that large machinery couldn’t fit through.

i most definitely could not live in this house  – to me this home is sterile and kind of prison-like. could you live in here?
