implanted nature

Share

in the city of Madrid, Spain, Luazinterruptus – a group of artists – have implanted 50 mini-ecosystems into the “grey areas” of the city.  they were outraged and motivated by the lack of “usable” green space in madrid and decided to search for plants that grow in the most unexpected places.

once they located their 50 plants around the city, they wanted to draw attention to them and in a way, preserve and protect them.  Luazinterruptus sheltered them with a makeshift greenhouse and brought them little animals friends to keep them company. so cute! i want to hang out with them!

at midnight on the 5th of may, the team set out and created their mini-ecosystems around the plants. their main goal was to draw attention to the insignificant weeds that grow and are able to survive harsh city conditions. plus all those homeless plastic horses!
