before we showed you the unbreakable wine glasses, now we’re showing you the unspillable wine glass! Christopher Yamane of Fragile Studios is an american art student who adapted traditional glass blowing techniques and created an unspillable drinking glass. named the Saturn wine glasses, the round bottom and glass-blown rim prevent it from spilling even when it’s tipped over.
to make each piece, Christopher used a centuries-old Italian glass blowing technique that is normally applied to the production of goblet lids. glass blowing is something i am not very familiar with, but apparently – you fold a bubble of glass, trapping the air inside, and volia – you have your Saturn ring.
the Saturn ring also demarcates the fill line to give you a perfect amount of wine, or whatever else you are drinking! they measure about 3.5″ x 4″ and are sold for $150 for a set of four. considering you are buying a handmade, intricate piece, the price is definitely worth it.
