a new use for shoe boxes… art! the lids of shoe boxes are super easy (and cheap) to wrap in fancy wrapping paper or fabric and hang on the wall with one little nail.
you can use just one, like i did in the first photo wrapped in green paper with another round box lid and the word laugh glued in the middle. i gave it more oomph by hanging it over a square of quilt my great grandmother made. – blogged about it in my gym room project a couple years ago here!
or, you can do a cluster of them in mis-matched or corresponding fabric or paper.
DO IT with hot glue, wrapping paper or fabric cut to fit around the lid and wrap it like a present – gluing on the underside of the box lid. trim the excess and hang it on the wall by resting one side of the lip of the lid on a nail!
you can also wrap the entire shoe box in paper and use it as a gift box – like i did for my DIY guy’s valentine’s gift.
