artist spotlight: trippy visions by jack hardwicke

the thought of doing acid scares the F out of me. i mean who wants their brain to swell to three times its size and have flashbacks after that neck pop on the 405 going to grandma’s house for Sunday roast?

then, i met Jack. Jack Hardwicke fulfills my acid trip and so much more without ever having to touch the drug and wind up like Jimi and Janis.  He is “The Next Artspace Artist” using photographs and digital art as his medium. Easily the best color palettes we’ll see in our lifetime.

Jack manages to capture these lucid hallucinations on canvas completely inspired by “beauty, space, infinity and colour.” I look at Jack’s work and go back to 1969. I just took a hit of something with a smiling mushroom on it, and THIS, is what I see floating in my cereal bowl.

I asked Jack what his five favorite things in the world are, and his list is quite humbling for an artist of his caliber: music, photography, Arrested Development, The Greenbay Packers, and the GREAT Claire Boucher (of Grimes).

Now, if only Chanel would make a nail polish that what his art does…

(all images were approved by Jack Hardwicke. feigning for more? look HERE!)

kalin, day tripping.
