you may remember from the lace trimmed shorts DIY post and video, i talked about how you can put lace anywhere with some fabric glue and lace trim from the fabric store! Kalin and i brainstormed that it would be fun to put lace on the cuffs of a shirt and the other day Kalin came in with this idea executed to glorious results! she chose a pretty black lace trim and applied it to the cuffs and collar of a thrifted blouse. you can use fabric glue or thread to stitch the lace in place. notice how she folded the cuff first and then applied the lace so she can wear the sleeves rolled up to show of her Mr. Kate Vertebrae Cuff from the new collection!
- collared shirt – a blouse works well in a flowey fabric.
- lace trim
- fabric glue (i like to use fabric glue sticks in a glue gun like i did here) or needle and thread in the color of your lace trim
- cut your lace to size around your collar lapel and shirt sleeves (if you want to fold the sleeves first and put lace on the inside fold like Kalin did, tack down the folded cuff with a little fabric glue or stitch).
- attach your lace with your fabric glue (or needle and thread). put the glue on the lace and not on the collar so you won’t see the glue marks.
- let dry and rock it!
