un-organize your wardrobe

Share

i know! most posts are about how to organize your closet and wardrobe, but we don’t have to organize to the point of categorizing when we can wear what. one of my favorite things to do (and Kate too), since my childhood, was horseback riding. i bought these tall boots from the local tack store to wear when i competed in horse shows. when horseback riding took a back saddle (back seat get it?!), the boots hibernated in my closet for quite some time.

and then one day it hit me: just because something is purchased for a specific reason or hobby…doesn’t mean you can’t reintroduce the item into your life! my boots and i were ready to give it another go. not only are they comfortable and full of great memories, but the “fashion world” is dressing equestrian-chic; people ask me what shoe or department store i bought them from…but tada, these are the real deal!

so the point is, experiment with incorporating authentic pieces into your wardrobe:

  • used to dance? throw on that leotard, or leg warmers…

  • like to paint? wear those splattered jeans out on the town…

  • and as i mentioned above, some more equestrian chic!… check out Smiley’s riding pants OOTD too!
