Coffee table books have been a staple interior design accessory for years. They’re usually large, hardcover books that are filled with photos or interesting tid bits – usually the types of books you can pick up and browse in a social setting…not a lengthy novel. I think what is fun about coffee table books is you can tell a lot about the person or persons living in the home – it’s a decorative way to express your interests!
Here are some of my favorite coffee table books which ironically sit on our DIY Decoupaged Coffee Table that I decoupaged with pages from an artist book! I arranged them along with crystals (read more about decorating with crystals here), some silver coasters I got at a garage sale, candles and an “I Love You” rock my sis gave me. Also check out the DIY book page coffee table I made on the Nate Berkus Show.
A World of Rings my mom brought back for me from her trip to India. It has some amazing photos of antiquities and I like to look at it for jewelry design inspiration.
Lady Cottington’s Pressed Fairy Book is a book I’ve had for a long time. It’s about a girl who can see fairies and catches them in the pages of her journal. The watercolor paintings are all of squished fairies…Love it!
Photographs Annie Leibovitz 1970-1990 – I got this book for $1 at a garage sale. Leibovitz is an amazing photographer and this book has many of the photos she took of musicians.
Flea Market Style is a great book about decorating with flea market finds.
Some more inspo from other people’s coffee table book arrangements…
My friend and Mr. Kate team member Kathryn has a blog with her friend Amanda called Your Favorite Blend featuring “The Coffee Table” – a recurring interview series where people share photos of their coffee tables! The above are photos of plant based blogger Jessica Murnane’s coffee table.
