Winter is beautiful and cozy and blah blah but if there is one thing I’d pick a bone with winter about, it would be how it wreaks havoc on my skin. Even those who don’t have naturally dry skin can find themselves cold, chapped and chafed in the blustery air of these months.
Enter the coconut sugar scrub. Coconut oil has been hailed liked Mary by beauty experts as a cure-all for dry skin and hair, as works deeper than most oils and moisturizers (see me rave about it in my Daily Skin Routine vlog). When combined with sugar, it forms a scrub that both exfoliates and replenishes. It’s going #doubletrouble on that dry skin! Plus we added some orange essential oil for a heavenly smell, and some dried flowers for a colorful touch.
Gift item alert! Make a jar for yourself, make a jar for a friend… it’s a treat, in a jar! It smells sooooo good…but don’t eat it!Do It!:
- Measure out the raw sugar and coconut oil, then mix together with a fork until well blended, but that the sugar still has its consistency.
- Add the thyme pieces, essential oil, and stir again. The last ingredient is the dried flowers! Crumble them in your fingers as you drop them into the mixture to give it a beautiful, confetti-like effect.
- Transfer the scrub into an amber jar, then label with one of the custom labels you can download here!
