Surprise Brother & Sister Room Makeovers

When self-professed #CreativeWeirdo Milla wrote us a letter explaining that her family had to evacuate their home in the Santa Barbara fires last year, and they just found a new home which she hoped we could come decorate … well we didn’t think twice about it!

Well, actually, we may have thought twice in the way that we planned to decorate not just one but two of the bedrooms! One for Milla and one for her brother, Jack! Seeing as both siblings are at that special age between childhood and high school years, we wanted to give their rooms a versatility that would age with them and be flexible when their teenage design whims kick in!

Watch the episode above and check out the before and after pics below!

Milla’s vibe was very minimalist with some bohemian warmth, so we opted for a nice white paint, and used color to emphasize her creativity, even painting areas on the wall to display her artwork!

She loved it! Now time for Jack’s room!

This desk was built for Jack by his family, so we definitely wanted to keep it in the room! His design was focused on working around features like this and the built-in bookshelf, while making it feel lived in and unique!
