Tween and teen years are so important to discovering your interests, your independence, and just everything about yourself … which is why tween and teen bedrooms are such hallowed spaces (and usually also such messes!) So when Vlog Squad member Jason Nash asked us to help with his 11-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son’s rooms, it was such a great opportunity to create spaces that celebrated who they are and left space for them to grow.

Watch the video above and check out the before and after pictures and shopping details below!

First up is 11-year-old Charley’s room! Despite her young age, Jason describes her as “11 going on 30,” and as such she had very sophisticated requests for her room. Charley wanted it to be very white, very light, and very importantly — have hardwood floors. We accented with pink and purple and twinkle lights and put in personal touches like a snack bar at her desk!

Next up is 14-year-old Wyatt’s room! This room presented a bit of challenge, due to its low ceilings and bunker-like architecture. Jason was at first quite nervous when he saw the dark gray paint we selected, but he and Wyatt both loved the final room. We designed the room in earth tones, which Wyatt preferred, and made sure it featured themes of music and science, which are his interests!

Ultimately, Charley, Wyatt, and Jason all loved both of the rooms! So grateful to have given them these new, personalized spaces!
