      Hello Little Mister,

I’m already imagining your room as a place with lots of vintage vibes. I guess chalkboards are a thing nowadays. They are functional and customizable, which is great! I can’t wait to hear Kate’s tips on this. But I do have some initial thoughts. Hope you find them helpful.

Since Halloween is close by, have you thought of creating a nice cozy corner in your room with some DIY pumpkins, spooky skulls, fall leaves, candles etc? Since chalk board has that perfect black color, you can use it as the background, draw some spiders, place a netted fabric and create a Halloween corner. Because #whynot? You can keep changing the theme for every season.

Another idea could be using it near your study/work area. You can do some DIY there too, by placing some serial lights along the border, tassels, hang pictures, write weird stuff, make a to-do corner etc. It will just be you.

You can place a tall plant in a corner and hang the chalk board vertically beside the plant, write some beautiful quotes. Here are some pictures I found online, that might help you get some inspiration. Let us know what you did!

OMG! And yes, how can I forget the #OWAC episode with MannyMUA? I think it has everything you need. Loads of neutrals, lots of DIY. Honestly, every time Kate does a room transformation, I’ll be like, “Ahh yes! now I know my favorite color palette.” This has been going on for a while now.

          Hi Alexa!

I’m a little mister like you, who loves to follow everybody’s q&a to learn from the team. I personally love light baby blue! It’s such a pleasant color which has color and neutral vibe. It’s great that you have light blue walls. But I think it’s better not to over-do our favorite color in a room. So, to keep it more neutral, I think adding light blush pink (Mr.Kate’s fave) and tan/grey/white to the color palette, depending on whether you want to keep your room cool toned or warm toned, is a good idea. I wouldn’t add more blue to the room. Have you seen Mr.Kate’s video on 3 ways to decorate a dorm room?

I think you can get a lot of inspiration from it.  Have you looked into removable wallpapers? They are a great alternative if you can’t paint your room. You can choose an accent wall and fill with wallpaper. Make a gallery wall with metallic frames to hide some more blue. Add more metallics of your choice as accent pieces. Here are some pictures that might inspire you a little bit. 🙂 Keep us posted!

How can I forget the metallic! I think it will be absolutely gorgeous if there are some gold/rose gold/copper metallic pieces with minimalist design, as @Mademoiselle_escargot suggested!

              Hi Phoebe,

Another Kate’s huge fan here and I would love to hear Kate’s opinion on this, but from my knowledge from Kate’s videos, I think white walls suit this theme since you are looking for a boho inspired theme. Great that you are almost clear about your color palette! So, using them as accent colors carefully, keeping the walls muted with white. That will look much more brighter than filling everything in some color. Looking at the pillow colors, I feel mustard yellow or any yellow shade makes an attractive triad color scheme, especially if you are into bright pops of color. If you like a calm and soothing look, go for a beach theme.

Overall, I would go for something like white walls, ombre curtains with white and one of your accent colors, a big plant, an accent rug, a white comforter set, sheets, throws and pillows that match your color scheme. And yeah, if your budget permits, use sheepskin, bedside table and lamps for a cozy look! DIY a hoola hoop canopy for that whimsical element! I’m not at all an expert but I learnt this by watching lot of Kate’s videos! 🙂 Let’s wait and see what Kate’s take on this is!
