Hi Mr.Kate, I wonder if a person has to be good at drawing in order to become an interior designer. I notice many people in the design industry are really good at drawing and I just can’t draw, but I really love interior designing. So what’s your opinion?

        Hey Thu!!

Thanks for your question! I would say drawing is not a required, or the most important skill! There are a lot of tools that can help you create floor plans — we use SmartDraw for ours!

As long as you have creativity and vision that you can execute, drawing won’t slow you down! I recently talked about how I became a self-taught interior designer, and you learn a lot more about the little interior design tips and tricks by watching that video!! Best of luck!!

        XOXO,

        Mr. Kate & Team
