Decorating around a funky yellow couch

Hi Mr. Kate and Joey! I’ve been a long time viewer and I could really use your help. I am moving into a new apartment and my roommate has this really eclectic and bright couch. I’ve brainstormed hundreds of ways to decorate around it because of how loud it is but it’s not playing out as I want it. I could really use some recommendations. Thank you!

Hi!

I would say use the couch as your main focus, and use the colors featured in it as accents( for example, a teal vase or lamp sitting on a side table next to it). Try to stick with wood for furniture( besides other seating, which then you could use another accent color). Also tey incorporating plants, as they might help balance out the room.
