I need a wise advice

I am a teacher in Vancouver now. I am living in a flat which has all the facilities. But I am not able to meet the flat rents. It is too expensive as compared with my salary. I read about shared accommodations available in Vancouver. When I decided to move into an already established share house, I asked my friends whether they know any of them. I checked on websites and local notice boards. They gave me the phone numbers and I enquired about the services. And it is the time for us to fix the accommodation.
But I am confused with this sharing accommodation. If I give the money and sign the agreement, I can’t do anything if I don’t like that place. I usually follow a daily timetable from my childhood itself. I can’t afford the people who interfere in my life. So before deciding, I need a wise advice.
