Need Help! Want to upgrade my IKEA drawer unit

Hey Mr. Kate! I recently bought this super cheap and functional IKEA LENNART drawer unit, but am having a few issues / upgrades I wanna work on:

1. It looks kinda plain and cheap (well it was cheap), want to jazz it up a little with maybe gold or marble designs but not sure where to start (my unit is white)

2. Since there’s no stopper mechanism on the drawers, they tend to fall off rail when pulling, they fall off the sides even when I only pull the drawer 2/3 of the way.

3. The front side of the drawers have this protruding bar(?) which makes it a bit harder to lay a flat overlay on top, h ere’s a picture to better show what I mean:

Although the pic shown above is black, my unit is white~
